WARREN 77

installation

Farewell was commissioned to create a piece of original artwork for Warren 77, a sports bar in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood. Drawing inspiration from the city’s storied sport history and the tradition of wooden letterpress, Farewell designed and produced an original three-dimensional mural made from laser-cut plywood. This immense undertaking involved staining and assembling thousands of individual pieces of wood to build up the dimensionality of each vignette. Farewell was hands-on with production of the entire piece, from initial woodcuts to final installation at Warren 77. The finished installation measures 12’ by 8’ and includes references to over 100 different sports icons and moments in history.
